Profile
Adewunmi Roland

My name is Adewunmi Roland and a member of the Mowbray Lodge No.5373 of the United Grand Lodge of England. I am a chartered civil engineer, an entrepreneur and presently pursue a full time doctorate degree (PhD) in Marine Technology in Newcastle University, United Kingdom. I am 35 years old.

Since my membership, I have enjoyed every minutes of every interaction I have in Freemasonry, especially the warm welcomes and fraternal friendship despite my background and race. It is every man’s desire to want to be a better man; for himself, his family, and for the society, and the positive spirit, especially the genuine interest of people I have met, the warm welcomes I received, more than anything confirm that my decision to join freemasonry was the best thing that have happen to me. I now believe that explanation of freemasonry is not the same as experience. It was good to be a mason and the opportunity priceless!

I am a certified project scheduler and controller, and have a master’s degree (MSc) in GIS/Remote Sensing from London and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (B.Eng). I am a member of various engineering professional bodies in UK and abroad. In a career spanning ten years in civil and environmental engineering, Remote Sensing and GIS projects, I have been a project/design engineer of various projects. This range from developing concept plan to execution, as well as all stages of projects from outline concepts, surveys, assessments and presentations, through manual or computer aided detail design, contract documentation and management of environmental and engineering construction projects.

I am the principal partner of R&A Associates, Apricot Consulting Ltd., and the Managing Director of Zephyrgold International; and a onetime Head of Engineering, Siraj International.

I am happily married and blessed with three children. I have many interests outside of business and study such as wildlife hunting of animals, religion, African-British culture, and international politics, swimming and computers. I try to live a life that has impact on the less privileged people, especially the orphanages. . I like spending time with old people because there is lots to gain from them, if you know what to ask. Lastly, I have a philosophy that men should faced the fact that tomorrow is today, and feel with the fierce urgency of now, that there is no such a thing as being too late. Procrastination as the saying goes, is still the thief of time.
