Mowbray Lodge No.5373 is a lodge under the jurisdiction of the United Grand Lodge of England and of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Durham.
We are one of almost 200 lodges in the Province of Durham which encompasses a community in excess of 8000 members.
Freemasons come from all walks of life, and are active in promoting a culture of integrity, charity and community responsibility.
Mowbray Lodge was consecrated in 1932 and recently celebrated it's 75th Anniversary. We meet on the first Wednesday of the month, seven times a year, at the Wearside Masonic Temple at Burdon Road in Sunderland.
Our social mix is very diverse, with members from the medical community, engineering and technology to academics and financial services.
Freemasonry means different things to different people. Some enjoy the opportunity to listen to and debate with others, whilst some members also find the social activities of great interest. A chance to study the history, philosophy and esoteric nature of the craft appeals to many, but most of all Freemasonry offers you a pathway to develop in ways that personally interest you.
